Ward Worlds

In April, the Ward Foundation celebrated the 50th Ward World Championship with the first fully in-person event since 2019. Held at the Roland E. Powell Convention Center in Ocean City, Maryland, the Super Bowl of bird carving featured hundreds of carvings competing in dozens of different categories, from novice-level pieces to world-caliber creations. Winners were selected after intense judging sessions, which included floating working waterfowl in the bay behind the convention center. Here are some images from this year’s event.
