Chipping Sparrow
The chipping sparrow is a common little bird that is lots of fun to paint.

The chipping sparrow (Spizella passerine) measures between 41/2 to 51/2 inches in length and has a chestnut crown, with a whitish eyebrow and a black line through the eye. It is easily confused with the American tree sparrow and the field sparrow. The chipping sparrow has become a familiar backyard or garden bird and is found throughout the United States.
The measurements for the pattern and painting notes were taken from study skins provided by Eastern Washington University in Cheney, Washington.
