Water, Water Everywhere: Part Two

Completing a versatile habitat that suits all kinds of birds.

By: Jerry Simchuk

In the last issue, we covered conceptualizing and carving water habitat for use with a bird that you decide should be in or around water. Here, I will cover painting and finishing the habitat. As I had said, color selection sets the tone for the water you are representing, and water isn’t as blue as you might think. A close look at a body of water will likely reveal greens, browns, and yellows, as well as blues. This varied tone can be captured with careful paint color selection and application.
