Northern Parula Warbler Part Two
In the first part of this article, in the Spring 2015 issue, we covered the carving of the Northern parula warbler. In this issue, we will finish the bird by painting it and making the feet and habitat.
Now that the bird is carved, you need to seal the wood. There are several methods for sealing; use what you like the best. I prefer to use Curt’s Teekay sealer because of the way it penetrates into the wood with no buildup in the burned or textured areas. Apply two coats and set the bird aside to dry.
